Tattoos FAQs

I would like to learn how to tattoo. Where do I begin my education?

It depends on where you are located. Many regions and states require licensure for tattoo artists, while others do not. The best place to start is to visit your local tattoo shop and ask the artists or the owner a few questions. These people will be able to point you into the right direction for your area.

I have a tattoo that I hate. Can a tattoo be removed? How do I get a tattoo removed?

Yes, a tattoo can be removed. A doctor, usually a dermatologist, can remove a tattoo with the use of a laser. Make an appointment with you family doctor and ask for a referral to a doctor in your area that completes removal procedures.

I love tattoos and I would like to get a new one, but I just found out that I am pregnant. Can I still get a tattoo?

No. It is not recommended that those women who are pregnant get tattooed. Please confirm this fact with your doctor. It is best to wait until after the baby is born to get your next tattoo.
